Nursing Research Aotearoa respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information when you use our website, contact us, donate or engage with our work.
What information we collect
We may collect your name, contact details and the information you choose to give us when you send an enquiry, make a donation or ask to receive updates. For donations, we may also collect the details needed to process your gift, issue a receipt and manage a regular donation. If you give in memory or celebration of someone, we may collect the name you provide for that purpose.
When you visit our website, we may collect technical information needed to operate and protect it, such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited.
How we use your information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, process donations, send receipts, manage our relationships with supporters and share updates with people who have agreed to receive them. We may also use website information to maintain and improve the site.
Providing information is usually your choice. If you do not provide details needed for an enquiry or donation, we may be unable to respond or complete the donation.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only when needed for these purposes, including with trusted providers that help us run the website, manage communications or process payments. We may also share information where the law requires or permits it. Some providers may store or process information outside New Zealand. Where applicable, we take steps required by the Privacy Act 2020 to protect information shared overseas.
If you follow a link to an external website, including an application or payment service, that site’s privacy information may also apply.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. We keep it only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or to meet legal and record-keeping requirements.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. You can also unsubscribe from our updates using the link in an email or by contacting us. We may still send messages needed to respond to an enquiry or administer a donation.
